Mariko Baika is a bilingual Japanese voice actor and actor based in the Washington, DC area. Her work includes commercials, documentaries, animation, games, dubbing, and live performance. Credits include Lady Ochiba in SHOGUN, a puppet character in a live show at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and in-store narration for UNIQLO in Japan.
Trained in both Japanese and English, she brings versatility shaped by years of working, traveling, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. Whether warm and reassuring, confident and professional, or cunning and dangerous, she loves finding the voice that brings each character and story to life.
When she's not behind a microphone, you'll likely find her horseback riding, practicing archery, scuba diving, salsa dancing, or—of course—watching anime, dramas, and live performances.

Born to parents from Osaka, grew up in Tokyo, lived in Berlin and Mexico City, worked for nearly two decades in the U.S., she speaks Japanese (Tokyo standard and Osaka dialect), English, and some German and Spanish.
She has translated, interpreted, and edited between Japanese and English for various types of clients. She understands not only the language itself, but also the cultural nuances that give it meaning.
